THE NEW ALBUM!
PAINTER
My third studio release has been created over a long period of time. Both the composing as well as
the producing processes were intense and often challenging.
If one consider that the overall mood of Painter has an melancholy touch, he might be right. The music reflects the feelings many of us share. We’re living in
a time of change, in which issues such as lies, hatred and war characterise our everyday lives and are hard to ignore. With this album, I would like to create a space in which you can process all this to some extent – by listening, reflecting or simply
being with the music.

ICY SKIES
My album ICY SKIES, released in 2021, is the logical musical successor to Life Is a Killer and continues to move in the direction of art rock with pop influences, being melodic and sometimes a little melancholic.
I particularly enjoyed collaborating with John Reed Middleton, who wrote two of the lyrics. Last but not least, I also enjoyed collaborating with Hajo Müller on the artwork. Hajo may be familiar to some through his collaboration with Steven Wilson.
My personal favourite track is ‚When the Angels Cry‘.

PROGRESSIVE ROCK OR PROGRESSIVE POP?
LIFE IS A KILLER
The album features Erlend Krauser (ex member of Lake), John Engehausen and Ralf Bittermann on guitar. The gnarled sounds of the Hammond organ come courtesy of Detlef Bösche, whereas George secured the services of pianist Matthias Pogoda for the title track Life Is A Killer.
The result is a prog-rock album with numerous melodious pop elements, mastered by no less a figure than Grammy Award winner Tim Young – the icing on the cake of such a visionary project.
Is it prog, pop, prog pop or maybe even a whole new genre? What really matters is the mastermind who goes by the name of George. Ultimately, it always comes back to George – Finally George.
ABOUT
FINALLY GEORGE
I was born in Hamburg in the mid-1960s. I started playing the violin at the age of six and received a Fender Precision Bass at fifteen. I then gave up the violin and started playing bass in a school band. At 16, I interned at a renowned recording studio in Hamburg. The school band evolved into Cakewalk, a band that became well known throughout Hamburg and northern Germany. We performed in almost all of Hamburg’s clubs. In 1994, I started my own business and recording studio. This was followed by several years of working as a sound designer and advertising composer. Then, in 2015, I was inspired to start making my own music! My debut album, Life is a Killer, was released in 2018 and received excellent reviews in Germany and beyond. I released the follow-up album, Icy Skies, in 2021, and my most successful album to date, Painter, in 2025.
